Design that works

Design that works

We believe in producing great design that works for our clients. To achieve this, we follow five simple principles.

1. Design with passion

Our first principle is simple: always work with passion. Put our heads and hearts into it. Go for bold. Dare to be different, even brilliant. We won’t achieve it every time, and sometimes understatement answers the brief anyway, but setting ambitious goals inspires ambitious outcomes.

2. Design with imagination

We believe in functional originality: design that works perfectly to achieve its purpose in an original way. Why? Because derivative generally means boring. People respond to, and remember things, that are fresh and suprising – a new twist on the familiar.

3. Design with understanding

We’ve been in design a long time. So we know a lot about the nuts and bolts of our business, but we’re not know-it-alls. We invest a lot of time to understand our clients’ needs and preferences. And we work hard to stay up to speed with new design and production possibilities.

4. Design with the best

We believe in working with the best in our industry. Over the years, we’ve struck up professional friendships with some very talented people: photographers, copywriters, illustrators and other specialists. They make us even better at what we do for you.

5. Design with you

Many of the best design solutions we’ve created were actually co-created with our clients – involving them at key stages of the design process, whether they needed a business card, a brand identity, a signage system, a website or a benefactors’ magazine. When you’re involved, you truly own the end results. And collaborating with Cantellday is good fun too.

Feedback from the last issue – ‘first’ issue – continues to be excellent. I was in Japan last week and when people spontaneously mention how good the ‘new’ magazine is, you know it must have hit the mark.
